Z kolei ich nastoletnie życie wypełnione było tradycją i umacnianie polskości i być może było remedium na ciągły brak opcji powrotu rodzin do kraju. To, co nieosiągalne dla rodziców, w latach 70-tych zaczęło być dostępne dla ich dzieci, które przyjechały do ojczystego kraju żeby go lepiej poznać, wróciły z tych wakacji z nowo nabytą tożsamością. Nie zostały w Polsce, bo ich korzenie były już zapuszczone w innej ojczyźnie. Paradoksalnie stary ląd okazał się //terra incognita//, nieodkrytą krainą.

What was unattainable for the parents began to become available for their children in the 1970s, who went to their ancestral country to get to know it better, and returned from those vacations with a newly acquired identity.
