+🇵🇱 Ilona przybyła do Londynu, kiedy miała 7 lat. Interesujące jest to, że jest Romką, ale czuje się bardziej Polką niż Romką. Mówi, że jest Polką i Polska jest jej ojczyzną, którą kocha i za którą bardzo tęskni, szczególnie za śnieżnymi zimami. Kiedykolwiek odwiedza Polskę, jest bardzo szczęśliwa. Powiedziała, że mogłaby wrócić do Polski po rozpoczęciu kariery, ukończeniu studiów. Dla niej bycie Polką oznacza urodzenie się w Polsce, mieć polskich rodziców, pielęgnować tradycje, mieć tam rodzinę i przyjaciół.

+🇬🇧 Ilona arrived to London when she was 7. I find it interesting that she is Roma but she feels more Polish than Roma. She says she is Polish and Poland is her home country that she loves and misses a lot, she especially misses snowy winters. Whenever she visits Poland she is very happy. She said she could move back to Poland after starting her career, finishing studies. For her to be Polish means to be born in Poland, to have Polish parents, to cultivate traditions, to have family and friends there.

+Zajęło jej trochę czasu, zanim poczuła się komfortowo, ujawniając fakt, że jest Romką. Ukrywała swoje rodzinne dziedzictwo, ponieważ obawiała się negatywnych postaw i zachowań ludzi wobec niej, pomimo że mieszkała w bardzo różnorodnym środowisku w Anglii. Borykała się ze stygmatem nałożonym na ludność romską.

She kept her family heritage hidden as she was afraid of people's negative attitudes and behaviour towards her despite the fact that she lived in a very diverse environment in England. She was struggling with the stigma imposed on Roma people.

+Jest bardzo inspirującą i nieustraszoną kobietą. Była piłkarką i jedyną kobietą w swojej drużynie, co więcej, była kapitanem akceptowanym przez męskich graczy. Jej ambicją było zostać profesjonalną piłkarką i grać w polskiej reprezentacji narodowej.
+Ilona była zdecydowaną orędowniczką praw Romów i kobiecej piłki nożnej. Niestety kontuzje zatrzymały jej karierę piłkarską.

+She is a very inspiring and fearless woman. She was a football player and the only female player in her team, what is more she was the Capitan accepted by male players. Her ambition was to become a professional footballer and play for the Polish national team.
+Ilona was a strong promoter of Roma rights and women's football. Unfortunately injuries stopped her football career.
