+🇬🇧 This interview caught my eye because Mira was born in Lodz, the city I lived in for about seven years. I still have friends and my family around there. Also, Mira is right about Lodz being an industrial city. Still, there are no historical monuments, but many buildings that left after the Industrial or Revolution are converted into malls, hotels, or just sightseeing points.

+Fascynujące jest słuchanie opowieści Miry o tym, jak żyła w latach 30. Nie mam pradziadków, a nawet dziadków, którzy doświadczyliby czasów, gdy Europą rządzili Hitler i Stalin. Dla mnie trudno jest sobie wyobrazić życie w tamtym okresie, ale Mira opowiada o tym bez silnych emocji. To była jej normalność, i chociaż była świadoma tego, co się działo, to jednak skupiała się głównie na dorastaniu. Również interesujące jest, jak bardzo ludzie polegali na radiu i gazetach. Były uważane za główne źródło informacji, więc wszyscy byli nimi pochłonięci.

+It is fascinating to listen to Mira's stories about how she lived in the '30s. I do not have great-grandparents even just grandparents who would experience when Europe was dominated by Hitler and Stalin. For me is tough to imagine living during that period, but Mira talks about it without any strong emotions. It was her normality, and even though she was aware of what was happening, still she was mostly focused on growing up. Also, it is interesting how much people relied on radio and newspapers. It was considered a main source of information, so everyone was absorbed by it.

+Bardzo podoba mi się ta część wywiadu, w której Mira opowiada o swojej relacji z ojcem. Mogę się z tym utożsamić, ponieważ czuję, że również jestem kopią mojego ojca. Mam świetne relacje z mamą, ale moje cechy emocjonalne są bliższe tacie. Mira mówi o tym, jak jej ojciec wspierał ją we wszystkim, co robiła, i ja również odczuwam ten rodzaj wsparcia ze strony mojego rodzica. Z każdą częścią wywiadu coraz bardziej identyfikuję się z Mirą, ponieważ wiele wzorców jest podobnych, albo po prostu rozumiem, jak skomplikowaną osobą jest.

+I really like this part of the interview where Mira talks about her relationship with her father. I can relate to this because I feel like I am also a copy of my father. I do have a great relationship with my mother, but my emotional characteristics are closer to my dad. Mira talks about how her father was supportive in everything she was doing, and I also feel this type of treatment from my parent. With each part of the interview, I can relate more and more to Mira because of how many patterns are similar or just in general I can understand how complex a person she is.

Z drugiej strony, jej matka urodziła troje dzieci i nie przejmowała się nimi zbytnio. Miała wobec nich oczekiwania, ale brakowało jej prawdziwego zrozumienia rodzicielskiego. +The interview surprisingly proves one more time that Mira's family was far from an average family model during those times. Like she said before; her father was cooking, taking them for holidays, etc. On the other hand, her mother gave birth to three children and did not bother much about them actually. She did have expectations towards them but no real parental understanding. Mira's story shows that her family was untraditional in some way, which makes it interesting what childhood and experiences her mother had to have for her to be this way.

+It is inspiring how during wartime, young people still were able to experience the joy of the cinema or theatre. Mira was fascinated by movies and performances. It proves to me so much that she was an incredibly creative person. She was so deeply invested in the artistic world that at some point, she discovered her passion for writing. It connects with me so much because I love to write as well. Additionally, I find feature films influencing our perception of the world and of who we can become. For Mira, there was nothing which would step in the way to discover herself, and that is outstanding motivation.
