+🇵🇱 Myślę, że jest żywym dowodem na to, że imigracja i mieszanie kultur mogą być siłą dobra, synergii, gdzie można cieszyć się najlepszym z obu światów: swoim tłem i nowym życiem – w tym przypadku Londynem. Mogła zrealizować swój potencjał jako piłkarka, a jednocześnie czuć się Romką i pamiętać swoje polskie życie, kulturę, kuchnię i pogodę. Nigdy nie osiągnęłaby sukcesu jako dziewczyna grająca w piłkę nożną w Polsce z dwóch powodów. Po pierwsze, piłka nożna kobiet w Polsce jest prawie nieistniejąca, szczególnie na wsi czy w bardziej prowincjonalnych miastach. Po drugie, pozostanie w jej starym środowisku zmusiłoby ją do utrzymania się na bardziej tradycyjnej ścieżce jako romska dziewczyna z południowej Polski. A jednak Londyn to umożliwił!

+🇬🇧 I think she is a living proof that immigration and the mixing of cultures can be a force for good, a synergy where you can enjoy the best of the two worlds: your background and the new life - London in this case. She could realise her potential as a football player and still feel Roma and remember her Polish life, culture, cuisine and weather. She would never achieve any success as a girl playing football in Poland for two reasons. Firstly, female football in Poland is almost non-existent especially in the countryside or in more provincial cities. Secondly, staying in her old environment would force her to stay on the more traditional path as a Roma girl in southern Poland. Yet, London made it possible!

+A propos, Romowie na południu, blisko granicy ze Słowacją, pochodzą z różnych grup Romów, niezwiązanych z ludźmi mieszkającymi w moim rodzinnym mieście (Gorzów Wielkopolski). Nasi Romowie mają się znacznie lepiej, są zintegrowani i żyją nowoczesnym stylem życia, jednocześnie zachowując swoją kulturę. Są dobrze postrzegani w mieście, a ludność romska miała jedne z najważniejszych wkładów kulturowych do miasta w ciągu ostatnich 50 lat.

+BTW, Roma in the south, close to Slovakian border, are from different groups of Roma disconnected from the folk living in my hometown (Gorzow Wielkopolski). Our Roma are much better off, integrated and living modern lifestyles yet preserving their culture. They are well regarded in the city, with Roma people having one of the most important cultural contributions to the city over the last 50 years.
